MARTY GOLDSTEIN

Marty Goldstein, a native Californian, spent his childhood in San Diego with one brother and two Irish Setters, and that is where his story begins.

Whether it was the stressful corporate world, as he calls it, or an innate desire to sculpt, Goldstein had told his wife on several occasions over the years to remind him
that he should sculpt after retirement.

The only sculpting he had done before retirement was carving a large bar of ivory soap as a 7-year-old Cub Scout. (“It was a little dog, of course.”)

Many years later, when Marty retired from the rigors of corporate life, he rediscovered his passion for art. After taking numerous classes, this artist found himself eager to create a series of whimsical bronze "Harvey Dogs", which he enjoys sharing with anyone who loves animals or simply delights in beginning each day with
a smile or a chuckle.

“I actually didn’t remember,” he concedes, grinning. “She told me I had to do something because the other guys, she was told, did nothing but hang around and
get in the way of their wives.” Goldstein took sculpting classes at a local art school. “How can I put this delicately … after being dragged by my wife.”

“Harvey Dogs” have found homes throughout the United States, Canada, in Europeand Asia. To date, this charming collection has grown into a series of over 115
bronzes, all limited editions.
