MISSY DIZICK
Missy Dizick's work is often inspired by the gregarious nature and carefree lives that are led by the well fed house cat. Images of smiling, rotund and playful cats and dogs reflect the love that she feels for her animals. Although she doesn't always paint cats, her work usually includes animals in the subject matter that are colorfully conveyed in a cheerful and mischievous way. She has created several greeting cards and humorous books, including Russle, Cat Scan, Dogs are Better than Cats, Cats are better than Dogs, Test Your Cat's Mental Health and Test Your Cat's Psychic Powers. Gallery 444 held an exposition of her work in the Spring of 1997. A poster of her painting "Madcaps" was published to benefit the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty To Animals (SPCA). Missy has recently retired after many years as a pediatric nurse. Fans of her art will be happy to know that Missy has returned to painting after a hiatus of several years. © 2012 GALLERY 444, SAN FRANCISCO |
